Art and Meditation Practices
- Make marks using pencil and paper. (30s-1min)
- Make marks, while consciously slowing yourself down. Focus your attention on listening to your breathing and watching your hand. (30s-1min)
- For 1 min, pay attention to everything and note the sensations (eg hearing, seeing, feeling). After 1 min, make marks based on sensations that come to you. (2min)
- Pick an object and draw it. (5min)
- Pick an object and draw a tiny portion of it. (5min)
- Pick an object. Draw to reveal the inner conditions of that object. (10min)
- Make as many images as you can using only 4 pixels. (5min)
- Make a 5cmx5cm square. Only draw straight lines inside the square. (5min)
- Play music and draw in response to it. (5min)
- Just draw. Imagine yourself as the universe drawing. (10min)
- Pick one of your drawings, a good one that you respond to.
- Write down a physical description of the drawing. (5min)
- Write down the feelings you get from the drawing. (5min)
- Write down a story you made up based on the drawing. (5min)
- Write down a symbolic story based on the drawing. (5min)
